AGE OF CHILDREN FOR NURSERY

  • SUNDAY MASS: six months through 4 years
  • SUNDAY AFTERNOON, EVENING AND WEEKDAY: six months through fifth grade

GENERAL HEALTH AND ILLNESS

  • We are unable to accept a child experiencing any of the following:
  • temperature of 100.0 or more
  • visible infection of eyes or skin, or has an open wound
  • any communicable illness such as flu, measles, mumps, chicken pox
  • We will not administer any medications.
  • We will have tissues, latex free band-aids, and hand sanitizer available.

PARENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • All parents are to remain on the grounds of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton while their child is in the Nursery.
  • Parents must respond in a timely manner to any alert they receive via Nursery provided pager.
  • Any diapering or changing will be the responsibility of the parent.  Staff will page the parent if a child requires his or her diaper changed.
  • We are unable to provide assistance in the bathroom. Please be sure that your child is wearing a clean pull-up or diaper when they are dropped off in the Nursery.  It will be the parents’ responsibility to assist any child who cannot independently use the bathroom.  This includes children in the process of being potty trained.
  • Other than to assist with the above, parents are not allowed to stay with their child in the Nursery.

PERSONAL PROPERTY

  • We have plenty of toys and games for children.  If your child brings their own toys, we are not responsible if the item is misplaced or damaged.
  • Any personal items left in the Nursery will be taken to the Lost and Found area of the Church.

FOOD AND BEVERAGES

To avoid issues regarding food allergies, we ask that there be no food brought into the Nursery.  The only exception to this will be baby bottles.  We will label these bottles for you when dropping off your child.

EVACUATION POLICY

  • In the event of an emergency, we ask that if you are located on the church side of the campus, that you immediately come to the Nursery to pick up your child.  Any child not picked up will be taken to the Rectory.
  • If you are located on the school side of the campus and an evacuation is needed, please go to the Rectory to be reunited with your child.
  • The Rectory is located at 10517 Unita Drive
  • Turn into the driveway at the flagpole with The Vatican Flag.

NURSERY HOLIDAYS

  • The Nursery will not be available during the following times: Labor Day weekend, Thanksgiving week (to include the weekend after Thanksgiving), Christmas, Spring Break, Easter weekend, and Memorial Day weekend.
  • The Nursery will close on days that Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School is closed due to weather.

NURSERY STAFFING

  • Our Nursery is staffed by volunteers. There will be middle school and high school aged volunteers to assist our adult volunteers. If we do not have enough adult volunteers to accommodate the number of children, we will need to limit the number of children in the Nursery for that Mass/event.
  • Since we are dependent on volunteers for a successful Nursery program, we ask that if you use the Nursery that you also consider volunteering during future events.  Any time you are able to assist is greatly appreciated.  You can sign up on our Parish website, www.seasfw.org under Parish Life, then select Nursery. You can also call the Parish Office at 260-432-0268.
  • All volunteers must complete the Safe Environment Training Curriculum through the Diocese before they are able to work in the Nursery.

COMMUNICATION

  • We will use Flocknote to communicate an unscheduled closing of the Nursery. You have the option to provide us with a cell phone or email address if you wish to receive these notices.
  • At times, we may opt to show a movie in the Nursery.  Any movie selected will have a G-rating.
  • We reserve the right to not provide care if we do not have enough volunteers or if your child is ill.
